Specific methods

The ELDOA

Or “Longitudinal Stretching with Osteo-Articular Decompression” are movements that use muscle contraction to decouple two vertebral segments to restore spinal flexibility.

 

General objectives: To acquire a suitable posture progressively, with the aim of decoupling two vertebral segments and allowing the development of body awareness.

 

Local consequences:

  • Decompression of the targeted segment

  • Traffic acceleration around the segment

  • Regulation of the musculature of the segment

  • Enhanced sensory perception

The craniosacral approach

Craniosacral osteopathy is not a different approach from other osteopathic techniques. It is part of the range of tools that osteopaths use to restore the body's natural movements. It is distinguished by a very gentle palpatory approach that nonetheless works very deeply on the body.

 

The movement we call the Primary Respiratory Mechanism in osteopathy is a very subtle movement that causes internal and external rotation of the upper and lower limbs. For the central skeleton, it causes flexion and extension movements. These movements are involuntary and present in our bodies from birth until death. This is why a good balance of these movements in the body is so important.

 

This treatment is very gentle to receive, very relaxing and its effects can be felt for several days, an excellent complement to other manual or traditional medicine approaches.

A must-do at home!

Functional breathing allows the body to release the muscular tension we accumulate during our daily activities. Over time, we develop a body structure with hyper-contracted muscles. This posture limits our ability to breathe fully and reduces our overall energy.

 

Keeping your rib cage immobile can lead to pain between the shoulder blades or in the lower back, excessively tense legs, reduced venous return to the heart, and limited pelvic movement. Regularly practicing functional breathing (a few times a week) will restore flexibility to your stiff muscles.
